Survival Kitchen–Another Ball Book Can Help with Your Food Preservation

You may remember that we’ve told you before on this blog about the Ball Blue Book for canning.  Well, Ball has another book you’ll want to have to help you with your food preservation, and it’s even more thorough.  It’s The Ball Complete Book of Home Preserving, and you can get it from Lehman’s.

This 448 page book is described as being the definitive canning resource and cookbook for novices as well as experienced canners. Discover how simple canning and preserving can be.  It contains 400 delicious and creative recipes that should appeal to nearly everybody.  And, they’re user friendly, too.

You’ll be sure to make use of The Home Canning Problem Solver, which provides the answers to virtually any canning question.  There’s also A produce purchase guide, and an extensive glossary.  There is a section on soft spreads such as jams, fruit butters and marmalades.  There’s one on  fabulous fruit, dealing with pie fillings, sauces and whole fruits.  That’s not all though.  There are helpful sections about salsa, relish and chutney, condiments, tomatoes, and pickles.

Your kitchen won’t be complete without a copy of The Ball Complete Book of Home Preserving.  You can get yours by clicking on the Lehman’s logo and typing item 801314 in their home page search box.  That takes you to a page featuring the book.  Click on its picture if you want to learn more or to order.  Get a copy as a gift for a friend or a young couple you know who are just getting their household started.

Times’ getting away for this gardening season, and I hope your canning and food preservation efforts are going well.  May you enjoy those tasty goodies this winter and beyond.
