            A little while back I wrote a post about two books on tying knots.  Another one has been brought to my attention and comes highly recommended.  It’s The Klutz Book of Knots, by John Cassidy, and is said to be useful for teaching anyone from children to sailors, whether they’re beginning or pro.

This book has cut board pages show what the knot is supposed to look like when it’s done. According to reviews I’ve seen, the directions are easy and clear, as are the illustrations.  Cords are included for tying the knots around slots in the book.  If you’ve forgotten knots from Boy Scout days, The Klutz Book of Knots offers a good refresher.

            Take a little time with The Klutz Book of Knots to acquire basic knot tying skills yourself, then spend a rainy Saturday afternoon passing on what you know to your children or grandchildren as you go through the book together.  You’ll have fun as you cultivate an important survival skill.
