Preparedness and Identity Theft–What's the Score?
So much of what we do in our efforts to survive an unforeseen disaster is an attempt to beat the odds. But what are those odds?
Wouldn’t it be great if you knew, let’s say on a scale of 0-100, what the chance is that your house might be robbed? Or what’s the probability of coming martial law?
Now there’s such a score to predict whether your identity could be stolen. It’s offered by TrustedID, and it’s something no other identity protection company offers. Identity theft is a rapidly rising crime, and if it happens to you it could ruin you financially as well as have other serious consequences.
TrustedID’s Identity Threat Score is on a scale from 0-500 and provides a gauge of your risk of identity theft by assessing millions of records on hundreds of public and private databases. TrustedID uses advanced technology to analyze the information for patterns that could indicate if you either have been or are about to be a victim of identity theft.
Then, based on your score, TrustedID's Protection Specialists will provide help to make sure that the necessary steps are taken to proactively protect your identity. Since your financial and personal information is constantly updated within these databases, TrustedID will automatically re-calculate your score. As a result, you’ll want to log into your account regularly to check for these updates.
If you receive an alert that you have a medium or high score, TrustedID recommends that you contact their Protection Specialists for steps to help improve your score. Once you’ve followed TrustedID’s recommendations, you’ll be able to update your Identity Threat Score.
Here’s an important note. Your Identity Threat Score is not a credit score, and neither score directly affects the other. While lenders don’t look at a Threat Score during their credit evaluation, it’s still important to check your Identity Threat Score periodically in order to keep yourself safe. That’s because a stolen identity can lead to misuse of your personal information, and that can affect your credit score.
TrustedID takes pride in staying up to date with the latest security threats and protecting their customers before identity theft can happen. They’re constantly innovating their products and services to offer the most comprehensive protection for the best value.
You take precautions to have storge food and survival supplies on hand in case of storms, power outages, or upheaval in the neighborhood. Why not take precautions to protect your personal identity with TrustedID? The Identity Threat Score is offered to new TrustedID customers as an added layer of protection on top of the 15 points of protection they already offer, and it’s at no extra charge.
