Surviving More Swine Flu Confusion
Friday afternoon I saw a brief news item saying the CDC notes the number of swine flu cases may be dropping. While they’re increasing in places like
Are we over the hump? Is this thing on the decline? Was—or is—the media hype for nothing? There will be more of it to come, you can bet on that.
Soon after, as if this was all too good to be true, reports appeared saying four cases of Tamiflu resistant H1N1 have appeared in
Is it really, or is this more hype, just in case people get lax about the flu? Maybe it’s both. I don’t know how much it matters at this point.
What I do know is that, along with the earlier stories saying the number of cases was going down, there came warnings about spreading the flu over Thanksgiving. See, I always knew family reunions could be sickening. Or maybe the government doesn’t believe in family values after all…
Seriously though, is going to visit family any worse than being out among the public every day? Granted, if you’re a cashier at a grocery store, you’re not likely to hug and kiss customers coming through your checkout line, like you would family members.
Nonetheless, do we really have to be told to exercise caution as though we’re children? Anybody who wants to avoid flu and colds has enough common sense to know what to do to stay well or how to cope when they get sick. If not, they deserve what they get.
This swine flu isn’t typical, but it hasn’t been the deadly plague some feared. I think it still bears watching, but I’m delighted when I hear so many are reluctant to take the vaccines.
By the way, getting out those vaccines has been a bit of a fiasco, hasn’t it? It’s sad to see people flocking to flu clinics in fear there won’t be enough vaccine to go around.
I could say more, but the point is, when you’re preparing for survival, you pay attention to your surroundings. You’re going to be alert and aware. You don’t buy into everything the government dishes out because you know this is what we can expect from the “Nanny state.” You act in your own best interest.
If you haven’t taken the swine flu vaccine, don’t. If you don’t want to take my word for it, click here for more info from Dr. Sherri Tenpenny on the ongoing vaccine controversy. Meanwhile, stay well.
