Put a Quality Survival Kit in Your Car This Winter

Last evening I was watching one of the national networks for news and weather was one of the top stories.  I don’t remember how many hundreds of flights were cancelled over the weekend due to the snow storm in the East, but some people won’t be able to get their flight until Christmas Eve.

One couple wanted to skip the flight and drive to Arkansas, except they couldn’t get a rental car.  If they do find a car, they may be driving into the teeth of the next storm aiming for the middle part of the country.  Arkansas might see rain, while parts north will get dumped on by more snow.

I couldn’t help but wonder why the rush and crush.  Don’t we put a lot of pressure on ourselves this time of year?  Last Friday was supposed to be the busiest travel day of the whole year.  We take modern transportation for granted and don’t often take alternative plans into consideration.  We don’t anticipate potential survival situations.

The fact that winter has just started means there’s a lot of wild weather ahead.  Regardless of how winter manifests itself where you live, you need a copy of my “Winter Storm Survival Basics” report.  One of the recommendations in it is that you should have a survival kit in your car.  If you’re traveling this week, don’t let luggage and presents crowd out survival supplies.

You can put your own car survival kit together or buy one that’s ready made, such as QuakeKare's 2 Person Deluxe Backpack Survival Kit for the car.  This Emergency Ready Survival Kit earns Homeland Department of Security’s recommendation.  It contains three days worth of food bars and water, emergency blankets, ponchos, emergency tent, solar powered and hand cranked light and radio, light sticks, first aid items, emergency whistle, masks, gloves, folding knife, and more, and all can be packed into a blue nylon backpack.

Don’t forget to put a shovel and sand or kitty litter in your car as well as any other supplies such as extra clothing.

To order QuakeKare’s survival kit for your car, click on the QuakeKare logo to go to their home page.  On the sidebar click on Car Kits, and this 2 Person Deluxe Backpack Survival Kit will appear with other car kits.  It’s item SKBP2DD.  When you click the image of this kit, you'll get more details and pricing information.  Place your order from there by adding it to your cart.

The holidays can be a wonderful time, but be safe and remember to keep thinking survival.
